Ruth Helen Souza

SOUZA, Ruth Helen, of Fallbrook, CA., died April 23, 2003 in Fallbrook as a result of severe injuries caused by an auto accident. "Ruthie" is survived by her daughter, Alexandra Helen Lyon; her sister, Sylvia Moore of Mims, FL.; her brother, Charles Souza of N. Redington Beach, FL.

Born June 19, 1946 at MacDill A.F.B. She attended area schools and was a 1964 graduate of Robinson High School. She received her nursing degree at Joseph Lawrence School of Nursing in New London, Conn., and furthered her education at Cal State, UCLA and the Univ. of San Francisco. She held a B.S. degree, a masters in public health, and was a Nurse Practitioner in maternity and OB-GYN. At the time of her death she was in a masters program at Point Loma Univ., and was teaching at Fallbrook and Ivy High Schools.

Ruthie was a spiritual, loving and humble person, wise in the ways of nature and health. Memorial gifts may be made to the Ruth Souza Scholarship Fund at Fallbrook Union High School 760-723-6300, or to the La Gloria Orphanage in Tijuana, Mexico, through the Fallbrook Rotary Club.
