Tampa Bay Music Hall of Fame

Tampa Bay Music Hall of Fame Rules and Regulations regarding the qualifications, criteria, and guidelines for the nomination & induction process into the Tampa Bay Music Hall of Fame, set forth by the Tampa Bay Music Hall of Fame Board of Directors in 2013:

1. Geographically and demographically speaking, the Tampa Bay Music Hall of Fame defines the Tampa Bay area as being the region that extends as far East as Lakeland, as far South as Venice, as far North as Spring Hill, and as far West as the Gulf of Mexico.

2. A band or artist must have started their professional career at least fifteen (15) years prior to the date of nomination into the Tampa Bay Music Hall of Fame.

3. A band or artist did not necessarily need to be born or raised within the Tampa Bay region, or get their professional start within the Tampa Bay region in order to qualify for nomination or induction into the Tampa Bay Hall of Fame. However, a band or artists did have to play in the Tampa Bay circuit for a significant* portion of their professional career in the Tampa Bay region. *It will be left up to the discretion and interpretation of the Tampa Bay Music Hall of Fame Board of Directors as to what they constitute a “significant” amount of a particular artists career as being.

4. Any genre or style of music is eligible for nomination and/or induction into the Tampa Bay Music Hall of Fame.

5. Only bands or artists who predominantly play original music are eligible for nomination and/or induction into the Tampa Bay Music Hall of Fame.

6. The Tampa Bay Music Hall of Fame Board of Directors takes the following additional criteria into consideration when determining eligibility of a band or artist for nomination and/or induction into the Tampa Bay Music Hall of Fame: Longevity, dedication, influence, overall lasting impact, popularity, and talent/skill. *It will be left up to the discretion and interpretation of the Tampa Bay Music Hall of Fame Board of Directors as to whether or not they feel a particular band or artist possesses these particular criterias.

7. Bands and/or artists can be nominated for possible induction into the Tampa Bay Music Hall of Fame by either the general public or by the Tampa Bay Music Hall of Fame Board of Directors.

8. Though bands and artists can be nominated for possible induction into the Tampa Bay Music Hall of Fame by the general public, the final decision as to who is nominated and/or inducted into the Tampa Bay Music Hall of Fame is left up to the desecration of the Tampa Bay Music Hall of Fame Board of Directors.

9. There is no limit as to how many bands or artists can be nominated for possible induction into the Tampa Bay Music Hall of Fame each year.

10. Nomination for possible induction into the Tampa Bay Music Hall of Fame does not guarantee induction into the Tampa Bay Music Hall of Fame.

11. The Tampa Bay Music Hall of Fame Board of Directors will choose anywhere between 6 - 12 nominees to be officially inducted into any one (1) class of the Tampa Bay Music Hall of Fame at a time.

12. Induction into the Tampa Bay Music Hall of Fame is determined by popular vote by the Tampa Bay Music Hall of Fame Board of Directors.

13. Only the Tampa Bay Music Hall of Fame Board of Directors can vote on which nominees get inducted into the Tampa Bay Music Hall of Fame.

14. At any time, the Tampa Bay Music Hall of Fame Board of Directors retain the right to amend any and/or all of criteria and guidelines for the nomination and/or induction process. If any amendments are made by the Tampa Bay Music Hall of Fame Board of Directors, the amended criteria and guidelines can only take effect on the next nomination/induction class, but never on the current or any of the past nomination/induction classes.
